  • Outpatient Mental Health Therapist/Psychologist (2 locations)

Job Information: We have an opening for a psychotherapist/psychologist in our Everett and/or Snohomish offices and are looking for just the right person to fill this position. This position is to provide office-based, outpatient psychotherapy and/or psychology services to patients in our communities.

COVID-19 considerations: Nearly all of our services are provided online. Some sessions may be provided in-person, if clinically indicated. We ensure social distancing, appropriate ventilation, air filtration, and sanitation practices. Over the longer term, we anticipate a hybrid of in-person, office-based and telehealth/virtual visits.

Starting or maintaining an outpatient practice can be a challenge, particularly since there is not a set salary-- Then, there are the expenses to manage such as rent, utilities, phones, supplies, equipment, and more. With all the demands of running a private practice business, focusing on your clinical work can almost feel like a luxury sometimes.

With Counseling Centers of North Puget Sound, you can get back to your calling and passion-- clinical practice. We offer some of the best parts of private practice and agency employment: Therapists get to set their own schedules and patient load, but do not have to worry about overhead costs (like rent, phone, utilities, billing insurance and patients, etc). We take care of that for you.

Much like a working in a private practice group, therapist income here is based on fees generated, via a 'fee-split' system. A portion of the fees generated by the therapist are used to pay agency costs, and the therapist is paid the rest. But, we are able to give the therapists a larger share of the fees than in other practices. (Note that the salary quoted in the posting is a requirement of Indeed.com, and your salary is dependent on fees received)

We welcome those who have a spiritual, faith-based background, interested in being supported to bring spirituality into their practice. We have a supportive group of seasoned providers, and we meet frequently for group consultation, and provide some free continuing education hours (CEU's) every year. Our turnover is low, for a good reason: We like it here.

Job Type: We are seeking someone who is looking to grow a full-time practice with us. This job pays based on a fee-split (ie., commission).
Required education: Master's or Doctorate degree in psychology or other behavioral health-related field.
Required license or certification: Candidates must be licensed at the highest level for their profession. We cannot hire those with Associate or Agency Affiliated licenses.
Additional Required Qualifications: Must be able to work independently, and take initiative to build a practice. Must be able to respect each person's spiritual beliefs and practices.

    Desired Qualifications (but not required)
-Training in pastoral care, or Christian counseling
    -Experience in private practice
-Current contracts with health insurance plans

We help new staff members with insurance contracting, and some marketing.

    About us:
CCNPS (formerly Samaritan Counseling Center of North Puget Sound) is a Christian faith-based, non-profit counseling agency. We work in partnership with host churches which generously support our agency by providing space, funds and/or other in-kind support. Christian counseling is one of our services offered, but is not required to receive care. Clients and providers are free to discuss spirituality as appropriate here, but we honor each client's belief system and work with them from their framework in a deeply respectful manner. We also strive to respect the belief systems and practices of our host churches.
CCNPS does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion/creed, gender, gender expression, age, national origin or ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in hiring or in the provision of services.
