We are growing, and have room for clinicians with a passion for therapy. We have openings in our Everett and Mill Creek offices. This position is to provide outpatient, office-based and virtual psychotherapy and/or psychology services to patients in our communities. We accept most insurance plans, and provide some adjusted fee scale rates to those who cannot afford the full cost of counseling.
Starting or maintaining an outpatient practice can be a challenge, especially in the midst of a pandemic. With all the demands of running a private practice business, focusing on your clinical work can feel like a luxury sometimes.
With Counseling Centers of North Puget Sound (CCNPS), you can get back to your calling and passion-- clinical practice. We offer some of the best parts of private practice and agency employment: Therapists get to set their own schedules and patient load, but do not have to worry about overhead costs (like rent, phone, utilities, billing insurance and patients, etc). We take care of that for you.
We don’t want to grow too much more, so that we can keep the small group experience that our clinicians and staff value so much. Our turnover rate is very low, because the staff like it here. If you are looking for a chance for personal and professional growth, as part of a strong, supportive, collegial group of seasoned professionals, this may be the place for you.
Flexibility is one of the benefits of working here. Clinicians set their own schedules, and can work both in the office and remotely. The salary is largely self-determined, based on a commission (fee-split) basis. Our commission rate for staff after the start up period is generous. We do not control your caseload or productivity. Instead, we reward dedication by progressively increasing the commission rate when specified service hour or revenue benchmarks are reached.
We have a higher commission rate than other groups or agencies, which also allows our staff to choose their own health insurance plans. We offer paid time off and selected free continuing education.
CCNPS offers the best of the private practice experience, with little of the risk. Need to take extended time off, or have to shut down your office for a pandemic? Here, you won't have to worry about covering rent or other overhead costs. Nor do you have to submit insurance billing. We take care of all of that. You can focus on what matters most—your clinical work.
If you are new to the world of insurance-based practice, we will help you get established with insurance companies, and some marketing.

About us:
CCNPS has been a part of local communities for nearly 40 years. We started out as a couple of staff in one office, and now have 11 therapists and psychologists providing outpatient mental health services in 7 locations. CCNPS (formerly Samaritan Counseling Center of North Puget Sound) is a Christian faith-based, non-profit counseling agency. We work in partnership with host churches which generously support our agency by providing space, funds and/or other in-kind support. Our primary mission is to provide counseling services to the larger community. Service ministry is at the heart of our mission. Each staff member determines what portion of their practice to offer for uncompensated care.
Christian counseling is one of our services offered, but is not required to receive care. Clients and providers are free to discuss spirituality as appropriate here, but we honor each client's belief system and work with them from their framework in a deeply respectful manner. We also strive to respect the belief systems and practices of our host churches.
CCNPS does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion/creed, gender, gender expression, age, national origin or ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in hiring or in the provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and the community.
COVID-19 considerations:
