General Information:
  • Initial appointments are typically 60-90 minutes in length.
  • Regular individual therapy appointments may be 30, 45, or 60 minutes long.  The length of the appointment depends on a number of factors:  What is medically appropriate for your situation, your preference, and what your insurance company may allow.
  • Most of the time, appointments are 45 minutes in length.
  • 60 minute sessions may be scheduled if it is appropriate, and your  insurance company authorizes and pays for the longer session.
  • Some people prefer 60 minute sessions, and will pay themselves for the longer session.  However, some insurance plans will not authorize longer sessions and prohibit us from allowing people to pay the difference themselves.  If this is the case, then you will be restricted to 45 minute sessions.

Scheduling:  I know that having late afternoon appointments is a priority or even required for many people.  However, for a number of reasons, I need to use this approach to giving these times to patients:
  • Later afternoon appointments are reserved for current patients.
  • Based on 'seniority' and scheduling needs.
  • Later afternoon appointment times are reserved for 60 minute appointments.  Exceptions may be made if an appointment opens up due to a last minute cancellation.  If your plan does not allow longer appointments, your appointment times will most likely need to be before 3:00 PM.
